The Jewish Plot to Assassinate the Imam Mahdi

According to Hadith teachings, one of the primary obstacles to the Reappearance (Zuhur) of the Imam Mahdi is the “fear of assassination”—the risk of him being killed before fulfilling his global mission.
Imam Baqir says:“The Qa’im will go into occultation before his reappearance.” When asked “Why?”, he replied: “He fears being killed.” “The Qa’im will go into occultation before his reappearance.” When asked “Why?”, he replied: “He fears being killed.”⁽¹⁾
It is important to understand that this fear is not personal cowardice; rather, it is a matter of divine wisdom aimed at preserving the final “divine reserve” and executing the grand plan for global justice.
This “fear of assassination” is a reality that the enemies of truth have actively planned for—from the beginning of the Occultation to the present day. It is evident that the confrontation between truth and falsehood has been an ongoing struggle throughout history.
This is not merely a theoretical concept; there is concrete evidence in the field. Religious scholars and even military commanders have reported on secret projects aimed at “identifying and assassinating the Promised Imam.” From digging tunnels beneath the shrine in Samarra to obtain genetic information about the Imams, to interrogating scholars in Iraq to locate the Imam Mahdi, they have sought to implement their assassination plans.

A Simple Response to Critics of Imam Khomeini’s Doctrine

A question arises: When the Imam Mahdi (a.j.) leads the prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, will Israel still exist? Will Zionists like Netanyahu still hold power in Palestine? Or will they have already collapsed before the Reappearance?
Would the stubborn and hostile Jews, if they possessed power, ever allow a descendant of the Prophet to lead prayers in the heart of Jerusalem? The answer is clear: The Jews would never permit such an event.
Naturally, at that time, the Jewish front will possess no such power; they will have fallen into such a state of decay and collapse that they will be unable to stand against the Imam and his followers. This is why the Imam will be able to easily lead the “Prayer of the Unity of Religions” in Palestine.
It is clear, therefore, that the Reappearance is a “process-oriented” event, not a sudden or accidental occurrence. It requires specific preparations. The day will come when the “fear of assassination” is lifted, and no global power will be able to stand against the Imam.
The day when the heavenly call (Sayhah) is heard: “Truth is with Ali and his Shi’a.” Everyone will see which Shi’a stood firm against the Sufyani movement. Indeed, the process of the Reappearance will not emerge from a path of “passivity and inaction.”

The Duty of the Shi’a: Building Power

As long as the corrupt elements within the Jewish front act freely on earth and plot the assassination of the leaders of truth, can we expect the Imam Mahdi to lead prayers in Palestine?
The Shi’a must build this authority (Iqtidar). By sitting idle and merely praying, the corruption of Israel and the “fear of assassination” will not disappear.
This article also serves as a “simple response” to those who oppose the doctrine of Imam Khomeini—particularly figures like Nassiri and Akbarnejad and the current within the Najaf school of thought. Beyond the Quranic doctrine mentioned in Surah Al-Isra, Imam Khomeini’s theory of the “destruction of Israel” is a crucial part of the process leading to the Reappearance.
They must answer: Is the presence of Zionism in Palestine compatible with the Reappearance? Can the prayer of unity be established in Al-Aqsa without the collapse of Israel? It is evident that the path to the Reappearance passes through the collapse of Israel. This is a part of the divine puzzle. Therefore, those who oppose Imam Khomeini’s movement are not just opposing a political analysis; they are resisting the very path of the Reappearance. This is the greatest betrayal of the Era of Waiting.

Has the Obstacle Been Removed?

Can we say that the Shi’a have reached a point today where they can protect the life of the “Imam Mahdi” just as they protect the life of his “Representative”?
Not yet. The great powers must also be weakened—what the Hadiths refer to as Harj al-Rum (the chaos and collapse of the Western powers), which will be followed by a global conflict. In reality, there is a hidden connection between “resistance, security, and the Reappearance.” Therefore, in addition to “Shi’a authority” and the “balance of terror,” Harj al-Rum must also take place.
